Garden Markers

Hello and Happy Sunday to everyone. I feel bad about not being able to blog lately but we have been ultra busy and I just havent made the time. We have had a death in the family, a wedding and dr. appts. and everything else you can think of. We have also been battling over 100 degree days here in south Texas. I cant help but think about what is going to happen to my yard. My garden is all dried up and its all I can do to keep the pot flowers going. A couple of weeks ago I found the greatest blog. (Blogland is so huge. There are so many talented people out there) If you like animals, cooking, gardening and a great writer then you will love it! It is called Chickens in The Road, go to www.suzannemcminn.com. I saw these garden markers on this blog and I knew I had to try them. I went to Home Depot and purchased all the supplies and my daughters and I sat down on the back porch and made them. My husband cut all the wood and we did the painting and put them together. I made them in sun yellow but I am going to make some more in some different colors. We had so much fun making them I think we will make some for gifts too!

Microwave Chocolate Cake~~This ones for everyone!!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone has had a great start to their week. Now that I have this summer job easy recipes are a must. This is one that will top the list. It is a decadent dessert that is so easy and quick, yet looks so pretty when its finished. I made this cake at my moms house and we were so busy talking about how easy it was I forgot to take a pic after it was frosted. We couldnt wait to dig in. It was extremely good. I hope you all try it.

Here are the goodies you will need.

After your batter is mixed it will be extremely thick, just kind of mush it around evenly. This is a pampered chef recipe so I used my bundt pan stoneware. Their stones are so nice, they make my food cook evenly.

Here it is right after the sprinkling of cinnamon and sugar and right before the frosting. Since I made this at my moms my mojo was off. I didnt take enough pics. Sorry!
Microwave Chocolate Cake
1/4 cup sliced almonds
3 eggs
16 oz. sour cream
1 pkg. devils food cake mix
1 cup miniature semi sweet chocolate chips
2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
1 tablespoon sugar
1 8 oz. container frozen whipped topping
Brush a bundt pan with oil. Chop almonds. Whisk together eggs and sour cream until smooth. Add almonds, cake mix and half of the choc chips, and also 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Mix all together and spread into your prepared pan. Microwave your cake on high 11-14 min. or until wooden pick comes out clean. Let stand in the microwave for 10 min. Remove from microwave and loosen cake from sides and invert onto a platter. Combine cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle over the cake. Place remaining choc chips and 1 cup of the whipped topping in a bowl and microwave on high 30-40 seconds or until melted. Drizzle over the cake. Serve with remaining whipped cream. Yum!

Quiche Muffins

He everyone! I'm so sorry that I was MIA for awhile. I have been working at a summer job and I miss my blogging! This is a short term job and that is what keeps me going. I am enjoying the extra money. Todays recipe comes from the Pioneer Flour Mill in San Antonio. The restaurant there is called The Guenther House. The Guenther family started the Pioneer flour mill many, many years ago. The restaurant is located in the Guenther homestead and it is a great place to eat. One day this was their special. It is a great breakfast/brunch recipe. It is great with a salad and some fresh fruit.

Here is your picture of ingredients. It seems like alot.

Mix your eggs, milk, melted butter and biscuit mix together.

You will need some green onions, tops n all!

Diced ham

Shredded zucchini

Oil your muffin cups. I used these jumbo things.

Add your cheeses and mix well.

Fill the tins up almost to the top.

Bake for about 30 minutes and be sure to let them cool.
These things are just scrumptious.j

3/4 cup chopped green onions

3/4 cup grated swiss cheese
3/4 cup grated provolone cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Oil the muffin tins. Stir eggs, milk, butter and biscuit mix in a bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients blending thoroughly (batter may be refrigerated over night in an airtight container-I did this and it was just fine). Scoop batter into prepared muffin cups. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool before trying to remove from pan.
